Congratulations to Bangor Grammar School’s 1st XV on beating Dalriada School 36-17 on Saturday to qualify for the Subsidiary Shield final.
There was just a single point in it at half-time, but BGS pulled well clear of the Ballymoney side in the second half to book their place against North Down rivals Sullivan Upper on Wednesday 20 March at The Dub (Queen’s University sports complex), Malone Road, Belfast.
The timing could hardly be better given the 50th anniversary of the School’s first and arguably most famous Schools Cup victory falls on Sunday of next week (17 March).
Thanks as ever to Ken Best for supplying the photographs!
