Bowl victory for BGS 1st XV tinged with sadness

Congratulations to the Bangor Grammar School 1st XV on securing the Danske Bank Schools’ Bowl yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon with a convincing 41-3 victory over local rivals Regent House at Pirrie Park.
The match was preceded by a period of silence in memory of 15-year-old BGS pupil Josh Martin who had lost his brave battle against cancer just two days earlier. Josh was very much in the thoughts of supporters and players alike.
Photographs from the match – watched by a large, noisy and enthusiastic crowd of supporters comprising pupils from both schools, parents, friends and indeed former pupils – are provided, once again, courtesy of Ken Best.
