Alan Lilley, who attended Bangor Grammar School from 1992/97, tragically passed away on 16 February 2019, aged just 38. Whilst Alan was a universally popular figure, he was also, in many regards, modest and unassuming. He contributed to school life through sport, by way of tennis, and via music with a keen ability on the bass guitar.
Alan left school to continue his studies at South Eastern Regional College before embarking on a career in retail. He found opportunities
to travel and did so extensively in Australasia. In later years, back in North Down, he discovered o deep interest for photography and
was a member of Ards Camera Club.
He also made time to work as a volunteer for the charity Action Mental Health, finding their mission and ethos to hold personal
resonance and significance.
