Congratulations to Bangor Grammar School’s First XV, whose emphatic 54-12 home victory over Down High School (Downpatrick) on Saturday morning earned the boys a well-deserved place in the Danske Bank Subsidiary Shield final. This is the second year running the team have reached the final, with fingers crossed they will go one stage further this time around and win the competition.
The familiar foe of Campbell College will stand in their way at QUB on Thursday 19 March, with a starting time of 2.30pm. If there are any changes to the arrangements we will endeavour to let you know.
It would be advised to also keep an eye on the @SportBGS Twitter feed for updates plus more information about sport at the School. Congratulations too to the Under 14 XV who defeated Clongowes in the Trophy Final. As @SportBGS describes it, “an outstanding achievement.”
Two recent sporting stories featuring past pupils cover the departure of Andy Massey from Liverpool FC after seven years for an important new role with FIFA, while Lewis McKinnon tells a bit about himself at the Rangers Youth Academy. There are links to both stories.
